In the new season of 2013 the BIOS opens from the 15th of april to the 6th of october! You can visit us every day between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm. "The national park to touch" - games, fun and adventure is the topic of this years' special exhibition which you can visit from the 19th of may to the 25th of August. Furthermore choose to explore the "hidden wonders" in our main exhibition and take a look at our large seminar program!

Am 23. Mai findet im BIOS Nationalparkzentrum in Mallnitz ein Seminar über die stehenden Gewässer im Nationalpark Hohe Tauern statt.

Am 5. Juni veranstaltet das BIOS Nationalparkzentrum in Mallnitz ein Seminar über die Grünlandnutzung!
BIOS erhält Umweltzeichen
Dem BIOS Nationalparkzentrum Mallnitz wurde dieser Tage in Wien das österreichische Umweltzeichen für außerschulische Bildungseinrichtungen verliehen.
"Damit übernimmt der Nationalpark Hohe Tauern die Zielsetzung, eine Vorbildrolle für nachhaltiges Handeln in der Region einzunehmen und durch den sinnvollen Einsatz von Ressourcen Kosten zu sparen", betont Nationalparkreferent LHStv. Kurt Scheuch und gratuliert allen Beteiligten zu dieser Auszeichnung."Wir sind stolz, als erste außerschulische Bildungseinrichtung in Kärnten mit dem Umweltzeichen ausgezeichnet worden zu sein", so Peter Rupitsch, Direktor des Nationalparks Hohe Tauern Kärnten.

VERBUND-climate school awarded young climate protectors
For the climate competition over 130 school students from the national park regions Carinthia, Tyrol and Salzburg submitted innovative and creative ideas, projects and models to the topic of climate protection. The competition was announced by the VERBUND-climate school of the Hohe Tauern national park. The motto was: "Everything will fall into place, we show how".
The 4th grade of the Primary School Rangersdorf in Carinthia is glad about their prize: A trip to the VERBUND-Energyworld Malta at the Kölnbrein dam.

The current programme for school groups staying in the National Park
In 2012, as in previous years, the Hohe Tauern National Park again has a wide range of special offers for schools staying in the National Park.
The completely new "Learning through Research" programmes, developed in accordance with Science Center Network's guidelines call for an especial mention here. They awaken school students' curiosity and encourage their individual initiative, spontaneity and creativity.
Each programme is very varied and addresses cognitive, affective and motor skills. And still there is plenty of time for playfulness and fun.
